On March
18, 2000, my husband (Tom) and I drove to Buffalo, NY to pick
up the newest member of our family, a thirteen week-old blue
merle male that we named Parker. Parker joined our family at
a time of great sadness. Our eldest sheltie, Scooter, had gone
to the Rainbow Bridge at the end of February, and we were grieving
terribly over his loss.
Our youngest sheltie,
Bentley, was just desolate without his playmate and companion.
Several weeks after Scooter died, Parkers breeder, Cathy
Wojcik (Imperial
Shelties)
invited us to "just come and look" at her dogs and
her remaining puppies. How wise she was! The minute that we held
Parker, the huge hole in our hearts started to heal. This lively
puppy's antics were just what Tom, Bentley, and I needed!
Parker keeps
the whole family amused. He is very active and quite creative.
One never knows what hes going to do next! Parker loves
agility and appears to have a natural aptitude for it.
Parker started competing in agility in July, 2002, and he earned
his first agility title on August 24, 2002. Within a year, he
earned six additional performance titles! Parker is now
officially known as Balmoral's Blue Moon CD, AX, AXJ.
Parker is our first
sheltie to earn an agility title, and he is the first agility
titlist for his breeders as well.
We want to say a special "thank you" to Candace Heller
for training Parker and for handling him to these exciting wins!
He couldn't have done it without her.
The show
photographers at the various agility trials have taken some wonderful
photos of Parker on the agility course. Click here to see
Parker in action!
Parker can
best be described as an imp. He is playful & lively and can
normally be found with a mischievous glint in his blue eye! He
does things he knows that hes not supposed to and then
gives us one of those "how can you be mad at me" looks.
Sometimes it works!
He thinks
hes Wonder Dog and frequently tries to fly off the bed,
the couch, etc. . ! Ive never had a sheltie that loves
to jump as much as he does.
Parker is now owned
and loved by Mary Sue and John Puhatch.
